Geology of the Owens Valley and Inyo Mountains Region, California

Owens Valley is the entryway to world-class fishing; streams filled with the brown, rainbow, and golden trout. It is the gateway to the "fourteeners" of the Sierra Nevada, White Mountain, and the only permanent glacier in California. To the skier or snowboarder, Owens Valley is something you've got to get through to get to Mammoth.
