This edition of the Geologic Map of California was prepared in recognition of the California Geological Survey's 150th anniversary. It is an all-digital product built on the original compilation of C.W. Jennings published in 1977. The base map for the new geologic map consists of a shaded relief image and a combination of cultural, political, transportation, geographic, and hydrologic features. Also includes modification to the fault traces depicted on the original map by Jennings. Many faults have been added, modified, or deleted for consistency with the 2010 edition of the Fault Activity Map of California, which is a companion to this geologic map. Includes 13 page Explanatory Text to Accompany the Geologic Map of California. |
